Leonor Silveira

Representing the Ministry of Culture, Advisor of the Board of Directors at the Portuguese Film and Audiovisual Institute /ICA

Leonor Silveira as a degree in International Relations from the Universidade Lusíada and holds a postgraduate degree in Cultural Law and Cultural Heritage from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Leonor was an advisor to the Office of the Minister of Culture Manuel Maria Carrilho and is the deputy director of the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA). She is also a member of the Académie des Beaux -Arts de l'Institut France, as an international correspondent and a national co-representative of the Eurimages community fund within the Council of Europe. Leonor as the rank of Commander by Order of Merit, awarded in 1997 by the President of the Republic Jorge Sampaio as well as the Order of Chevalier des Arts et Lettres awarded by the French Republic.

Leonor is also an actress, having started his career in 1989 in “Os Canibais de Manoel de Oliveira”and to date she has participated in several films by several portuguese directors. She has been regularly invited to the jury of film festivals, such as at the International Film Festival of Luanda, the International Film Festival of Deauville, the International Film Festival of Marrakesh, the International Festival of São Paulo, the International Festival of of Short Films of Vila do Conde and a jury in the most recent edition of the Festival of Cannes, as well as Festival of San Sebastian, among others.
