PARTIS Project

Ângelo Merayo has a master’s degree in Portuguese Studies and postgraduate in Didactics of Portuguese as a foreign language. He joined the Portuguese Refugee Council team in 2015, as a Portuguese teacher. He is coordinator of the PARTIS - Refúgio e Arte project, financed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Currently, he’s also working as an author in the edition of a Portuguese as a foreign language textbook for Lidel Technical Editions. “Art and Refuge”: Visual Arts and Portuguese Language for young refugees (Portuguese Refugee Council, PARTIS - Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation). A programme for unaccompanied minors supported by the Portuguese Refugee Council. The project conducts sessions of drawing, illustration, experimentation of materials, painting, photography, video, visits to museums and exhibitions, etc. In articulation with the Portuguese courses, unblocking communicative barriers through arts. The partnerships with schools bring together artistic practices in a dialogue about interculturality and multiculturality in the school context.
